Olympics Time!!!

Well it's time, the 2008 Beijing Olympics is finally here. Our teams (NBC, MSN, Microsoft, Schematic) have been aggressively working on putting the final touches on our Silverlight application and what should be one of the largest sporting events ever broadcast online. Silverlight will be powering the video experience on NBCOlympics.com where NBC will be broadcasting over 2,000 hours of online coverage.

I get asked about adoption all the time, and as I blogged before we have seen up to 1.5 million downloads a day and we only expect download rates to increase with this event. We expect to have hundreds of millions of users around the world consuming and experiencing Silverlight-based content and applications in their homes and enterprises over the coming months and years.

This is a defining moment in online history and we are proud to be apart of such a great event! We are excited NBC has chosen our Silverlight technology and want to say thanks to all involved. We are proud of our athletes, and wish them all the best of luck.
